The Gallery Marquette Artist of the Month for March is David Payant

“Let the chips fall where they may.”
David Payant is a wood turner from Marquette. He joined the Gallery Marquette over three years ago.
“I have been turning for 10 years and I love wood. All of my work is in local woods. Each piece of wood is unique and when you “open” it up amazing beauty is revealed.
His inspiration comes from the shapes and forms of ancient pottery. He was inspired by the great potters of the American Southwest and Europe.
David spends his spare time keeping his 35 bee hives, and exploring the Northwoods on his mountain bike.
