Marquette artist Meghan Bjork Local will be the guest artist in the Sarosik Rotation Gallery within The Gallery during the month of August.
There will be an artist’s reception on Friday, August 22nd, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.
Artist Statement
My work is about appreciating the beauty of nature and is influenced by my home as well as my travels. Marquette’s unique character provides endless opportunities for creativity, but I find inspiration everywhere I go. As a lover of all things outdoors I appreciate the way a particular environment can fill you with a sense of peace. My hope is that my work elicits that same wonder and appreciation that I hold for the beauty of nature. The colors and themes I choose, as well as the mood I try to create, are as much about the aesthetic as they are about the feelings they invoke.
