Kara Stahl Artis Statement and Bio

It wasn’t until a few years ago that I had a desire to develop my skills in painting. My vision is in abstract expression representing my strong spirit.

I have had an interest in my mother’s creative work as she is a local artist. She didn’t push me, but rather let me learn and develop my skills when I was ready. I studied other artist’s work and with my mother’s help, along with countless instructions from YouTube, I have been able to explore many different ways of mark making.

I keep my interest in creating crafts, combining craft with art, and now developing skills in fine art. Crafts and painting have been my emotional and somewhat physical therapy. I am disabled with three fractured vertebrae and Multiple Sclerosis, but art and crafts help me to tolerate my pain and physical limitations more easily. The awards that I have received from the exhibits I entered gave me encouragement to keep going with a positive attitude and strong drive to continue.

In honor of our friend and fellow artist Judy, the members of The Gallery Marquette are pleased to present the Judy Sarosik Rotating Gallery.

This mini-gallery within The Gallery will feature invitational and themed shows every 4-6 weeks.
